Joy is a staple part of the Christians diet. The feast that the Father throws for the rescue of his lost son is full of joy, gladness and celebration. Joyful celebration of what Jesus has accomplished here and now is a wonderful thing and one day the party will move to heaven when all our tears will have been wiped away.

The acceptance of the Father for his lost younger son is great example of God's free forgiving grace - isn't it? Who paid the price for the forgiveness of the younger brother? It was the elder brother and he wasn't happy. Thankfully we have a true elder brother (Jesus) who was perfectly willing to pay the price needed for our forgiveness and reconciliation to the Father.

Living life under the influence of the Gospel message however leads to life filled with joy, peace, assurance and poise. In response to the pharisee's muttering Jesus tells three parables, the lost sheep, lost coin and two lost sons. They are 'lost and found' stories. We were lost but Jesus finds us. We are sinners and His grace and love reach us.
